What vaccinations do I need? For entry into Ghana, a Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory, and you must bring your International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card). We also strongly recommend consulting a travel doctor regarding Malaria prophylaxis and other routine vaccinations like Hepatitis A/B and Typhoid.
Is it safe to stay at the Farm of Hope? Yes. The safety of our volunteers is our top priority. Our site is integrated into the local community, and our team provides 24/7local support. We will also brief you on local customs and safety tips upon your arrival.
Logistics & Living
Where will I stay? Volunteers stay in [mention accommodation type, e.g., our dedicated volunteer house / vetted host families] near the Farm of Hope. This allows you to immerse yourself in Ghanaian culture while maintaining a safe and comfortable home base.
What about the language? While Ghana?s official language is English, which is used in schools and offices, you will hear a lot of Twi (the local dialect). Our team will teach you basic Twi greetings?starting with Akwaaba!?to help you connect with the children and neighbors.
Preparation
When is the best time to come? The Farm of Hope operates year-round. However, if you prefer cooler weather, the best time to visit is during the harmattan season (December to February) or the primary rainy season (May to July).
