A Message from the Founder
Kwasi Heiser, Founder
I often look at my life as a story of two different boys.
The first boy was born in Ghana on September 27, 1980. Like so many children there today, his future was a question mark. The second boy moved to Germany just before his ninth birthday, where he was met with a safety net of support, education, and abundance?the kind of life a Ghanaian child could then only dream of.
I am both of those boys. And that is why I cannot look away.
The Moment the Past Called Back
In 2005, after sixteen years in Germany, I returned to my roots. The reunion with my family was beautiful, but the faces I saw in the streets haunted me. I saw children standing where I once stood, but without the ticket out that I was given.
For a while, I let the "busyness" of my German life drown out those memories. But in 2008, a headline changed everything. I read about a massive donation scandal at a major NGO. I realized then that if I wanted to ensure aid reached the children who needed it, without a single cent being lost to bureaucracy or greed, I had to build the bridge myself.
Turning Abundance into Action
In Germany, we live in a society of incredible surplus. We have "clutter" in our attics that would be "treasures" in Ghana.
I started with a simple belief: We can only function together. I called on my community for goods, funds, and ideas. The response was a whirlwind. Within just nine months, we filled a 40-ft container with 800 boxes of donations and 20 PCs. We didn't wait for a grant; we paid the EUR 7,500 shipping costs out of our own pockets. We had to get it there. We had to start.
Farm of Hope: A Legacy of Transparency
In 2010, I founded "Farm of Hope." People often ask me, "Kwasi, why do you work so hard for children who aren't your blood relatives?" My answer is always the same: Because I was one of them. I didn't choose to be born into opportunity; I was gifted it by my parents and my circumstances. The orphans and street children of Ghana are just as capable, just as bright, and just as deserving, they simply haven't had their "Germany" moment yet.
Our Promise to You:
Total Transparency: We bridge the gap directly between the sponsor and the child.
Radical Honesty: We invite our supporters to travel to Ghana with us to see the impact with their own eyes.
Sustainable Hope: We don't just give handouts; we empower children to eventually help themselves.
My Commitment
Every setback and every challenge is worth it if it means bringing hope to even one child. I dedicate my heart and my life to this cause because I know, with absolute certainty, that a child's zip code should not determine their worth.
Join us. Let's make sure their growth never stops.
